The architect has renovated a residential area that is typical of Chinese urban houses from the 1970s and 1980s. These houses are characterized by a relatively central location but have narrow and dilapidated interiors, lack privacy, pose safety hazards, suffer from a shortage of storage space, and have dim lighting. After the renovation, the house not only creates a safe, independent, and bright space for each family member but also enhances the communal space. The old items inside the old house have been represented. The predominant color tone of the house is blue, echoing the characteristics of Ningbo, a port city. Thus, a house that ensures the visual beauty of spatial design also fosters a deep connection between ordinary people's homes and the city comes true.

项目原是一座典型的中国城市七八十年代房屋：拥有相对中心的区位，但内部狭窄破旧；私密性差、有安全隐患、收纳空间不足、光线幽暗。改造后的建筑，不仅为每个家庭成员营造出安全、独立、明亮的空间，还对公共空间的功能和状态进行优化，并合理利用旧物，保留记忆的同时让其换发新生。全屋采用蓝色为主色调，呼应宁波港口城市的特点。一个“老破小”由此被改造为一个既有视觉美感，又能为普通人的住所增添与城市的深层链接的家。
